Crickethaus Ranch was founded in Bellville, TX in 1986 after moving to this small rural Texas community near Houston, TX from Durango, CO.

The unusual name - a combination of the English word "Cricket" and the German word "Haus" - has its roots in the main ranch house in Bellville, TX being infested with crickets at the time of purchase in 1986.

After 10 years in hot and humid Texas, we decided to move back to the mountains and relocated to Nogal, New Mexico, a very small mountain community high in the Rocky Mountains (6,427 feet or 1,960 meters above sea level) some 25 miles or 40 kilometers outside of Ruidoso, NM.

Family owned and operated we take great pride in our facility and our herd of superb horses.

As an APHA member we have been among the premier breeders of fine registered OVERO Paint Horses for more than 20 years.

When not "at home" you will find some of our horses on the show circuit throughout the country where they are being shown exclusively by Roger and Debbie Montgomery, owners of Montgomery Paint Horses of Penrose, CO.
